Swim Meet and Golf Tournament Housing
A limited number of University apartments are available for rental during some summer meets and tournaments hosted at Colgate.
Residential Commons
At Colgate, the heart of your campus living experience is your Residential Commons. Beyond the hall in which you live, students belong to one of four Residential Commons — groupings that allow you to have support, make friends, embrace life-long learning, and feel connected early in your college life.
Private Off-Campus Housing Process
About Living Off Campus
The University finds that students excel and graduate at higher rates when they live on campus, so Colgate has an eight-semester residency requirement to live in University-owned housing. Colgate does, however, offer approval to a small number (one-third) of senior-year students to live in privately owned, off-campus housing due to our on-campus housing capacity limits. Approval to live off campus is granted through an application and lottery process.
Housing and Dining
Colgate students live, learn, and dine together on campus for all four years.
Accessible Housing
Colgate is committed to providing reasonable and appropriate housing adjustments to students with disabilities who need accessible housing. There is a review process designated for that purpose.
Residential Life and Commons
Residential life extends student learning and growth into the campus’s residential community, promoting a purposeful and inclusive environment.
