The Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation provides volunteer opportunities, venture support, and events on and off campus.

Become a Mentor

Thought Into Action, Colgate’s flagship entrepreneurship program, relies on dozens of alumni mentors who play a critical role helping participants create ventures and develop their entrepreneurial skills. Mentors provide advice and guidance, help mentees accelerate their skills development and the progress of their venture, and facilitate valuable networking connections. For mentors, their role provides an opportunity to give back to Colgate, to share their knowledge and experience, to stay connected to innovative ideas, to be part of the University ecosystem, and to grow their own network.

Alumni Venture Support

E&I serves as a resource for alumni entrepreneurs by facilitating connections and access to resources. Our team can provide entrepreneurial advising, connections to alumni in the Colgate network, and information about TIA programs that are open to alumni.

Entrepreneur Network

Connect with fellow alumni entrepreneurs and engage in discussions at events around the country. The Entrepreneur Network brings together funders, founders, and content experts to support each other and support students.

TIA Entrepreneur Showcase

Alumni are invited to campus for the TIA Entrepreneur Showcase during Arts, Creativity, and Innovation Weekend. The Showcase is a celebration of Colgate entrepreneurship, featuring networking with more than two dozen student ventures, insights from exceptional alumni entrepreneurs, and a lively pitch competition.

Entrepreneur of the Year Award

The annual Entrepreneur of the Year Award, given out by the Colgate University Alumni Council, recognizes the achievements and qualities of an alumna/alumnus who best exemplifies the ideals of entrepreneurship. Past award winners have been leading entrepreneurs in technology, education, consumer goods, and more. Nominations are welcome anytime to alumni@colgate.edu.
