Summer Internship Funding

Employers and graduate school programs expect students to complete two hands-on learning experiences alongside industry professionals before graduation. Career Services Summer Internship Funding offers grants to cover living expenses (i.e., travel, commuting, food, housing) related to unpaid or underpaying internships, research experiences, or long-term volunteer service opportunities.
Undergraduate Research and Creative Projects
Deadline: February 6
Each summer, around 200 students work on faculty-led or self-initiated research and creative projects. Projects are sponsored through a wide range of departments and institutes across campus, each offering a living stipend.
Jim P. Manzi ’95 Fellowship
Deadline: Summer 2025 Closed
Manzi Fellows participate in paid, 10-week summer internships in a Boston-based nonprofit organization while living as a cohort. Students are provided housing and a generous living stipend.
John A Golden ’66 Fellowship
Deadline: January 9
Golden Fellows are selected on a competitive basis for their academic performance, leadership potential for a career in medicine or law, and interest in serving the Colgate community. This fellowship provides summer internship funding and professional school application grants.
Graduate School Access Fund
Deadline: February 13
The Graduate School Access Fund engages students of color and/or students with demonstrated financial need in a three-semester group advising experience. Funding supports the costs of standardized testing preparation (i.e., MCAT, GRE, LSAT), testing registration fees, graduate school application fees, and travel to interviews. Juniors across all academic disciplines and intended graduate degrees are encouraged to apply.
Career Services Microcredential Initiative

Summer Cohort II: May 1
High-impact mini-courses, certifications, and training programs teach students valuable professional skills and industry-specific knowledge. This funding supports the cost of registration, certification exams, and required materials (i.e., books) for one of Colgate’s curated courses or seminars. Students may also propose an option not offered at Colgate, such as EMT certification, language immersion courses, business bridge programs, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
Colgate-Tuck January Business Bridge Program

Taught by top-ranked Tuck School of Business MBA faculty, the Colgate-Tuck January Business Bridge prepares top liberal arts students to be successful candidates for internships and jobs. Financial aid is available to support the full cost of participation for at least 10 selected students who receive Colgate financial aid.
TIA Summer Accelerator
Deadline: February 16
Students interested in developing a business, nonprofit, or campus initiative are invited to apply to the TIA Summer Accelerator, which propels the growth of exceptional Colgate startups led by students and recent alumni. Participants receive a $10,000 non-dilutive grant, have the flexibility of provided on-campus housing or remote participation, and receive hands-on mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs.
