Reverberations, the 2025 Senior Art Exhibition at Colgate’s Clifford Gallery, showcases the work of Colgate’s graduating studio art and art history majors, developed as part of their senior capstone courses in the fall. Under the guidance of Associate Professor of Art Margaretha Haughwout and Professor of Art Elizabeth Marlowe, students engaged in extensive research, conceptual exploration, and artistic creation.
The title, Reverberations, emerged organically as the artists neared completion of their projects. Each piece in this exhibition invites viewers to consider the lasting effects of choices, identities, and societal constructs.
The exhibit features seven unique installations. Through painting, photography, 3D installations, monotype prints, and technology-driven pieces, these artists offer works that ripple across genre and tradition. Meanwhile, the eight art history majors have developed in-depth theses exploring visual culture across diverse places and time periods. The completed theses are displayed within the exhibition as well.
A virtual tour extends the experience beyond the gallery walls, inviting you to explore each piece, read the artists’ statements, and engage with the ideas that reverberate throughout the exhibition.
