Colgate University is closing the books on a record-setting 2020–21 fundraising year, thanks to the generosity of Colgate alumni and other supporters.

Members of the Colgate University classes of 2022–25 will now benefit from an additional expansion of the University’s no-loan initiative under the Colgate Commitment.

On June 1, Colgate University announced the Colgate Commitment: An Initiative in Access and Affordability.

Colgate’s admission team has put the University’s Plan for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into bold action, with impressive results.

During its spring meeting, the Colgate University Board of Trustees approved a series of appointments to endowed professorships, effective July 1, 2021.

Colgate’s administration and faculty are drawing on national best practices and creating their own innovative approaches to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in tenure-stream hiring.  

Laura Jack, vice president for communications, will serve as acting CDO, providing coordination and oversight for DEI initiatives while the search for a permanent hire continues.

In its first year, Colgate’s no-loan initiative awarded more than $1.5 million to students.

Daniel Benton ’80, P’10, H’10 has secured his place as Colgate’s most generous benefactor, making a $25 million gift in support of the University’s Middle Campus Plan for Arts, Creativity, and Innovation and other elements within The Third-Century Plan.

Colgate University announced the creation of two endowed faculty chairs that will support teaching and research in areas important to The Third-Century Plan.
