The Academic Quad is an area for lots of outdoor activity, whether it is sunny or snowing. You will see everything from professors holding class outside to some happy first-year students building snowmen after a fresh snowfall.

The facility is the home of the Colgate men's and women's ice hockey teams. Men's and women's lacrosse and soccer teams also have locker rooms inside the arena.

Thanks to Colgate’s most generous benefactor, Dan Benton ’80, H’10, P’10,  construction begins on the Benton Center for Creativity and Innovation. The anchor of a two-building, 36,800-square-foot complex on Colgate's Middle Campus to house computer science, film and media studies, theater, and dance.
