Community Leader Applications

The CL position is a fulfilling, challenging experience, and provides an opportunity for students to develop leadership skills and to form meaningful relationships. It is a chance to enhance your communication skills, and receive extensive training and personal development. 

To qualify to be a Community Leader one must be in good judicial standing and be a full time matriculated student. We are only interested in those who have a desire to make a difference, and a sincere interest in mentoring other students.

Students interested in applying for the CL position, must attend one information session below:
  • Tuesday, November 8, 4:30–5:30 p.m. - Lathrop Hall - 207
  • Thursday, November 17, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.- Olin Hall - 328
  • Wednesday, November 30, 4:15–5:15 p.m.- Edge Cafe/Bryan Complex
  • Tuesday, December 6, 5:00–6:00 p.m. - Alumni, 11
  • Tuesday, January 24, 6:00–7:00 p.m. - Alumni, 111
Application for the 2017-2018 academic year will be accessible on your housing account by November 7, 2016.

Applications are due on January 27, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.

Stacey Millard

Director of Residential Housing

Stacey began at Colgate in 2015. In her role as Director of Residential Housing, Stacey oversees housing assignments, residential facilities, and housing selection processes; she is also closely aligned with the Residential Commons program. Stacey’s professional experience consists of more than 5 years in residential life roles at small liberal arts institutions with characteristics similar to Colgate University. One of the most rewarding components of her position, is the opportunity Stacey has to help students find their fit and the place where they feel they most belong at Colgate. She also enjoys the opportunities to collaborate with the Facilities & Capital Projects staffs as we continue to invest in and renovate our residential facilities around campus. Stacey graduated from St. Lawrence University with a B.A. in Sociology and Educational Studies, and the University of Vermont with a M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration. Stacey is a native Vermonter, but now calls Chittenango, NY home with her husband, Geoffrey.

Fareeza Islam

Fareeza graduated from Colgate University in 2014 with a double major in Psychology and Environmental Studies and is currently working towards the completion of her M.S in Student Affairs Counseling at Syracuse University. She has spent her time over the last two years overseeing the programmatic efforts and housing needs of sophomore students. She is very excited to be on the leadership team for Commons Two working to develop and implement a community that provides an enriching and inclusive experience for all students. She is passionate about student development and looks forward to serving as a resource that will help students to develop and thrive holistically both inside and out of the class room. Originally from the Guyana in South America, Fareeza loves the Colgate community and enjoys Saturdays at the farmers market in the Village of Hamilton during the summer months.

Jack started working at Colgate University in 2016 as an Assistant Director in the Office of Residential Life. He works with students living in the Ciccone Commons and Townhouses. He is a recent graduate from Le Moyne College, where he received his B.A. in Philosophy, and is currently pursuing his M.S. in Higher Education Administration at Syracuse University. He loves the people at Colgate and the village of Hamilton, and he hope to develop programs that foster an inclusive campus environment where students can flourish.

Esther Rosbrook has a business degree from the University of Indonesia in 2002 and graduated from the State University in Buffalo in 2015 with a Master of Science degree in Education. Prior to coming to Colgate, Esther has about twenty years of experience in public relations, finance and budgeting, international relations, customer service management, youth empowerment programs and education. Before joining the residential life team, she worked at the ALANA Cultural Center for three years and transferred to the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures in 2015. In addition, she advises several student organizations on campus.

Residential Housing Coordinator

Tanith started working at Colgate University in 2015 in the Office of Residential Life. As the Housing Coordinator she works with students to find them housing and with Facilities to maintain our residential halls. She most enjoys working one on one with students looking for housing options or returning from abroad to ensure that each student finds a place they can comfortably call home while at Colgate. She received her B.A. in English/Creative Writing in 2008 from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY. Born and raised in Nebraska, Tanith, her husband Josh and their three children have called upstate New York their home for the past 15 years.
