Welcoming New Students

NEW STUDENT CHECKLISTAs the fall 2014 semester approaches, we extend a warm welcome to the transfer students who will be joining us. Please visit the New Student Checklist to access forms, updates, deadlines, and announcements throughout the summer. You can log in using the Colgate network ID and password that you received via e-mail. If you need assistance setting up your account, please contact Student Technology Services.

Required Materials from Applicant

  • Common Application for transfer admission, including the Transfer Personal Essay

  • Official standardized testing scores: SAT Reasoning Test or ACT Assessment
    Students must have testing results submitted directly to Colgate from the testing agency. Alternatively, testing results reported on an official transcript will be accepted. SAT or ACT writing sections are not evaluated.

  • $60 application fee
    The application fee is waived for non-U.S. citizens. Additionally, Colgate accepts official fee waivers from the College Board, the National Association for College Admission Counseling, and Expanding College Opportunities.

Required Materials from Guidance Counselor or School Official

  • Registrar report
    This Common Application document should be completed by the appropriate official at the applicant’s current institution.

  • Academic report
    This Common Application document should be completed by a professor who has taught the applicant in an academic discipline.

  • Official college transcript(s)

  • Official high school transcript
    An official high school transcript will display courses and grades for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.

  • Official standardized testing scores: SAT Reasoning Test or ACT Assessment
    Students must have testing results submitted directly to Colgate from the testing agency. Alternatively, testing results reported on an official transcript will be accepted. SAT or ACT writing sections are not evaluated.

  • Mid-Term Report
    This Common Application document should be circulated by the applicant to the professors of their current courses. Each professor should report the applicant’s progress or projected grade for the course.

Financial Aid

If applying for financial aid, applicants must submit the CSS / Financial Aid PROFILE online by November 1, 2013 for the spring term and March 15, 2014 for the fall term.
