Methods and ideas drawn from computer science are increasingly important in almost all other academic disciplines. Our approach to computer science is a mix of theory, application, design, and experiment. Most important? We think computer science is fun.

About Computer Science

Students in the department can major in computer science or computer science/Mathematics. Students may also choose to pursue a minor in computer science.

Colgate was one of the first colleges to establish an independent computer science program, and we continue to be a leader in the teaching of computer science at the undergraduate level.

Studying with us gives you the opportunity to learn from world-class faculty in the classroom, as well as to engage in graduate-level research as an undergraduate. Our faculty are extremely active researchers and have been successful in acquiring NSF grants to support their research, curriculum development, and educational infrastructure activities.
