A German government program, DAAD has dozens of available grants (examples below) to enable North American undergraduate and graduate students to study in Germany — from 3-week summer internships to a full year of study/research. These are available to students in all fields, including the natural sciences.
Deadlines vary, though many fall in January.
- Undergraduate Scholarship: 4-10 months of study
- Study Scholarship: for graduating seniors to spend the next year in Germany
- University Summer Course Grant: summer courses at German universities
- Study & Internship Program: coursework plus internship
- German Studies Research Grant: short-term research in Germany
- EMGIP-Bundestag Internship: 2 months in the German Bundestag
