A talk with Nobel Peace Prize-winning journalist Maria Ressa, part of The Kershner Family Series Global Leaders at Colgate, was a highlight of Colgate’s annual Family Weekend, held Oct. 27–29, 2023.  

Colgate University is seeking at least $100 million in new endowment gifts to support continued growth of the Colgate Commitment, the University’s expansive approach to making a Colgate education affordable and accessible to all admitted students.

MacDonell “Don” Roehm Jr. ’61 earned All-American and All-State honors for his skill as a Colgate soccer fullback. His passion for protecting Colgate athletics off the field as well was enshrined in a $4 million endowment bequest.

The easternmost of Colgate’s two new residential facilities will be named Burke Hall, in recognition of a $10 million gift from Gretchen ’81 and Steve ’80 Burke P’11,’20.
