Colgate University’s Board of Trustees has announced its new leadership team and welcomes eight new members, effective May 4, 2019. As previously announced, Michael J. Herling ’79, P’08’09’12, assumes the role of board chair; joining him are vice chairs Gus P. Coldebella ’91 and Jeanne Follansbee ’78, P’08.

One of Colgate University’s two new residence halls will be named Jane Pinchin Hall.

D’Jonita Cottrell ’19, an educational studies and psychology double major from Brockton, Mass., has won Colgate University’s 1819 Award.

Marlene Lawston and Leah Weisburn, both members of the Class of 2020, have received Goldwater Scholarships for the upcoming academic year.

“DoRAK exists to remind people that there is still good in the world, and it is actually quite easy to create,” Le said. “It does not cost anything to be kind, nor does it take a lot of effort. If you think about it, kindness is at the very foundation of human well-being. Sustainability is being kind to nature. Justice is being kind to others. Acceptance is being kind to yourself. Try to practice kindness in whichever way you can.”

On April 6, twenty-six teams presented their TIA ventures investors, mentors, and Colgate community members during Entrepreneur Weekend, part of the Colgate Leadership Tradition at 200 Years series.
