Hamilton, NY — The Colgate University women’s soccer team kicks of its 2003 campaign with a cross country weekend trip to Utah to battle two women’s soccer powerhouses.
Colgate returns five starters including top two scorers Kate Barrett and Kelly Kuss. Senior Kristi Woodworth returns for one more season, after a serious knee injury sidelined her last season. Other starters returning from last season are Allison Bernardini, Kyle Koch and Carolyn Warhaftig.
The Raiders take on the Utes of Utah Friday, August 29 at 6 p.m. eastern time. Utah is first in the Mountain West Conference preseason poll. Saturday, August 30, Colgate travels to Brigham Young to take on the Cougars at 9 p.m. eastern time. BYU is ranked 24th in the current NSCAA/adidas preseason poll and qualified for NCAA tournament play in 2002. It will mark the first ever meetings between Colgate and the two clubs.
