Women’s Hockey Drops a 3-1 Decision to #8 Princeton

Princeton, N.J. ‘ The Colgate women’s hockey team came back from a tough loss to Yale and played well despite losing 3-1 to the eighth ranked Tigers if Princeton.  Rebecca Lahar made 32 saves in net and junior Amanda Barre scored the Raiders lone goal.'xml:namespace prefix = o ns = 'urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office' />

 

'xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = 'urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags' />Princeton jumped out a 1-0 lead at 14:11 of the first period when Lisa Rasmussen knocked a rebound past Lahar.  Kim Pearce and Gretchen Anderson tallied the assists for the Tigers.

 

The Tigers went up 2-0 at 7:33 of the second period when Heather Jackson tallied an empty-net goal.  Princeton increased its lead to 3-0 on the power-play when Laura Watt scored on a shot from the slot.

 

Colgate picked up its lone goal just as time expired when Barre knocked home a power-play goal from linemates Allison Paiano and Becky Irvine.

 

Princeton outshot Colgate 35-18 and both teams were successful on one power-play chance.

 

The Raiders have now lost four straight games and fall to 15-12-2 on the season and 6-8 in the ECAC.  After a weekend off, Colgate travels to St. Lawrence for a weekend series.
