Women’s Basketball Wins Fourth Straight Home Game

Hamilton, NY — Emily Braseth had her second double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Malissa Burke tallied a game-high 21 points to lead Colgate to an 83-60 win over Charleston-Southern Thursday night at Cotterell Court.

Colgate (6-1) wins its third straight game and remains perfect at home in four outings.  CSU is 2-3.

 

Also in double figures for the Raiders was Meghan Curtin with a season-high 10 points.  CSU was led by LaKeshia Bryant with 15 points, followed by Erika McCoy with 12 and Keena Wicker with 10.

 

The Buccaneers held a 26-24 lead with 7:07 remaining in the first half, before Colgate went on a 12-3 run to open a seven-point advantage 36-29 with 2:32 left.  The Raiders led at halftime, 38-33.

 

Burke came out on fire in the second half scoring 13 of Colgate’s first 17 points as the Raiders took a 10-point lead 55-45 with 12:43 left.  After the Raiders extended their lead to 14 points, 63-49, the closest CSU came was 11 points with 9:01 left.

 

The Raiders out-rebounded the Buccaneers 45-38.
