Now in its third year, the Global Leaders Lecture Series, sponsored by Colgate’s Parents’ and Grandparents’ Fund, allows the university to invite high-profile guests to campus.

Last April, nearly 5,000 people packed into Sanford Field House to hear the Dalai Lama offer words of wisdom about achieving happiness.

Other lecture series speakers have included Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner, award-winning authors of Freakanomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything.

Backpacks, large handbags, and food/drink will not be permitted in Sanford Field House for the Powell talk. The use of cameras, cell-phone cameras, video cameras, and recording equipment of any kind is prohibited.
