Hamilton, NY — The Colgate men’s and women’s swimming and diving squad returned from its winter training trip and swept the Leopards of Lafayette. Freshman David HIll, Jenn Pflug, Laura Driscoll, and junior Rich Derrick all won two events to lead Colgate.
Pflug won the 200 yard breaststroke in a time of 2:31.53 and the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.90. Driscoll won both distance events with a time of 10:52.97 in the 1000 freestyle, and a 5:19.52 in the 500 freestyle.
Hill took top honors in both breaststroke events. He won the 100 yard (1:04.39) and the 200 yard event (2:20.57). Derrick won both distance events with a 500 freestyle time of 4:51.70 and a time of 10:07.34 in the 100 freestyle.
The Raiders also swept the men’s and women’s diving events. Lane Ellis took first place in both the one-meter and three-meter dives, while Alissa Bell and Jen Busby took top honors on the women’s side.
The Raiders have little time to enjoy the victory as they head to Lewisburg, Pa. to battle the Bison of Bucknell on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
