I’m seated in the Hamilton Inn with the editorial staff of Colgate’s weekly newspaper the Colgate Maroon-News. We’re taken to dinner every semester by the university as a means of thanking us for our work and dedication. And it’s nice to get to know the staff better over a civilized meal rather than sitting in front of computers, stressed, at midnight on a Thursday. The meal lasted four hours. I didn’t feel the time go by. And I didn’t want to face writing the last paper of my collegiate career.
All these ‘lasts.’ It’s hard to think that there are a slew of ‘firsts’ coming up in a matter of weeks.
