Hamilton – The roots rock of The Samples will return to Colgate University on Saturday, February 27, bringing their renown live act to the Hall of Presidents at 9:00 p.m. Supporting act Seeking Homer will open the event.
With an infusion of live energy and inspired songwriting, The Samples have been described by many as one of the most consistent bands in pop music.
Since their conception back in 1989, The Samples have released eight albums, including The Samples (1990) and Underwater People (1992). The two founding members, frontman Sean Kelly, and bassist Andy Sheldon, have returned with a radically altered lineup including three new members. The result is their latest release, the well-received Here and Somewhere Else on W.A.R. Records. Continuing the tradition of Kelly’s rich songwriting on ‘Hypocrite’ to the upbeat and inspiring ‘We All Move On,’ the Samples appear ready to reap the benefits of exhaustive touring and a loyal following.
Tickets are $6.00 with a Colgate University ID and $10.00 for the general public. Tickets will be available to the general public beginning Monday, February 23 in the Office of Student Activities in the Student Union. For more information, call 315-228-7320.
