Today is Colgate Day, as well as the official kickoff to Entrepreneur Weekend. There will be festivities all weekend including a speech by Sir Richard Branson on Friday night. Free tickets are still available online and can be picked up at the will-call window at the Sanford Field House.
Following Branson’s lecture, the Colgate Resolutions will celebrate their twentieth anniversary with a performance in the chapel.
Festivities continue on Saturday when a hot air balloon will launch from Whitnall Field trailing a Colgate banner.
Entrepreneur weekend will also continue in full swing Saturday with the Thought Into Action Entrepreneurs Club Exhibition and Lunch. Students will unveil 27 projects to alumni, parents, and the Colgate administration.
Saturday afternoon also features the unveiling of work by Pieter Bruegel at the Picker Art Gallery. In the evening, the Colgate 13 and the Swinging Gates will perform live in the Chapel, and it will be live-streamed online. If you can’t make it, send yourself a reminder to tune in here at 5:30pm.
You could also check out the Kononsioni Auction at the Palace Theater. Last year, the auction raised nearly $25,000!
Festivities will come to a close on Sunday with Home Run, a 5K and half-marathon fundraiser to support Madison County Habitat for Humanity.
It’s a busy weekend — what are you looking forward to the most?
