The Colgate field hockey team is on an 11-day European educational and athletics tour with the Raiders playing three games against club teams in three different countries.
The team flew from New York City to Dublin and played its first game against the Railway Union Field Hockey Club on Saturday. The following day they traveled to Kilkenny to tour the village and play the Kilkenny hockey club.
The Raiders traveled to London yesterday for a couple of days to tour and learn about one of the world’s best cities. Tomorrow, Colgate will depart for Amsterdam and face HC Blerick, outside of Amsterdam.
Following the final game of the trip, the Raiders return to Valkenburg, Netherlands, to tour the world famous caves that will include biking and rappelling in the caves. Colgate will then take on HC Maastricht in one of Holland’s oldest cities that dates back more than 2,000 years. On the final day of the trip, the Raiders will transfer to Aachen, Germany, and enjoy a farewell dinner in Vaals.
