SophoMORE Connections, the signature program that connects Colgate sophomores with alumni, recently won the NACE award for innovation. Last year alone, 400 sophomores joined 100 alumni on campus to explore career opportunities in a variety of fields. This is just one of the ways in which Colgate brings graduates and undergraduates together for career-centered conversations.
The university’s commitment to connections can also be seen in Colgate’s newly launched and highly active professional networks, which are designed to support undergraduate career development, promote alumni engagement, and cultivate new professional opportunities for members.
Online and in person, the university is facilitating conversations, because the power of the Colgate network is undisputed. Just this week the Common Good Professional network fulfilled the promise.
A blog post from Erica Weston ’15, describing her work this summer at the Romeo Dallaire Child Soldier Initiative in Halifax, Nova Scotia, appeared on the Common Good Network’s LinkedIn page.
Charlotte Reed ’06 replied:
“Just wanted to let you know that I am writing my dissertation (PhD in Human Rights) on the reintegration of female child soldiers in Colombia. Just finishing up my fieldwork in Bogota next week … I’ve spent the past year working with former child soldiers here in Colombia. If you want to chat let me know. The organization that you’re working with is great!! Good luck!!”
