CAPE COD, Ma. – With a weekend sweep of Findlay, the Colgate women’s hockey team earned two player of the week honors in the ECAC on Monday. Sophomore Allison Paiano (Orleans, Ont.) was tabbed with offensive player of the week honors, while freshman Alix Warren (West Windsor, N.J.) was named rookie of the week.
Paiano led the Raiders by scoring three goals in two games. She scored two goals including the game-winning score in a 3-1 victory on Friday night. Paiano followed that up by scoring the first goal in a 3-2 win on Saturday.
Warren opened her collegiate career Friday and recorded the game-winning tally on Saturday against the Oilers. Warren’s goal came in the third period on a slap shot from the blue line.
Colgate (2-0) returns to action on the road with a weekend series at Quinnipiac. Friday, October 17, the two teams will battle at 7 p.m. Saturday, face off is set for 5 p.m. Last season the Raiders swept the Bobcats at home.
