Hamilton, NY — Michael Moore, writer, director and host of TV Nation, will appear at Colgate University on Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. in Memorial Chapel. During his talk, ‘An Evening with Michael Moore,’ Moore will discus, among other things, his new book Stupid White Men: And Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation! Copies of Moore’s book will be available for sale and a reception and booksigning will follow the lecture. The evening before, (Monday September 24) the Take Two film series will sponsor a screening of Moore’s documentary Roger and Me at 7:00 pm in Love Auditorium, Olin Hall. Moore’s visit is sponsored by the CAB Lecture Series and is free and open to the public.
A fresh and funny American political voice, Moore has been called ‘the great TV satirist of the 1990s.’ As host and executive producer of the Emmy Award-winning TV Nation, Moore redefined the newsmagazine and created what The Wall Street Journal called ‘that rarest of species – a television program both funny and important.’ Moore first received national and international recognition in 1989 when he produced and directed the landmark documentary Roger and Me, a political satire about his quest to convince General Motors chairman Roger B. Smith to visit Flint, Michigan and witness the devastation wrought by General Motors plant shutdowns.
