Men’s Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision to Bucknell

HAMILTON, N.Y.The Colgate men’s soccer team dropped its third straight game and second straight in the Patriot League with a 1-0 overtime loss to the Bison of Bucknell.  Scott Visnic’s goal at 6:36 of the first overtime period gave Bucknell its second Patriot League win of the season.'xml:namespace prefix = o ns = 'urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office' />

 

Bucknell held the first half advantage, controlling most of the play and registering four shots on goal.   

 

Colgate came out strong in the second half controlling most of the play and registering some solid chances on net.  With 4:45 to play Eli Meyers (Pittsburgh, Pa.) sailed a shot just over the net after and excellent cross from Zach Stuppy (York, Maine).

 

The game went to overtime where Visnic took a through ball from Ori Adrabi and beat keeper Jon Brunell (Holden, Mass.) for the game-winner.

 

Brunell turned in a fine performance for Colgate, turning aside nine shots in the match.  Bucknell held the advantage in corners 11-5, and outshot the Raiders 20-9.

 

Colgate, who was shutout for the fifth time this season, drops to 0-2 in the Patriot League and 1-6-3 overall.  They will look for their first league win on Saturday, October 11 at 7 p.m. when Navy comes to Hamilton.
