Hamilton, NY — Senior shortstop Melissa Rawson (Palmdale, CA/Highland H.S.) cracked her 20th career home run Saturday to become Colgate’s all-time home run hitter. Rawson, who has six home runs this season, passed former Colgate slugger Amanda Paolucci (1999-02) into first place.
Rawson is now setting her sights on the Patriot League record of 21 set by Kim Miller of Lehigh between 1993-96.
With her sixth homer Rawson also became only the second player in Colgate history to drive in 100 runs.
She is Colgate’s all-time leader in runs scored, hits, doubles, home runs and total bases.
Rawson is a three-time all-Patriot League first baseman before moving to shortstop this season.
