Hamilton, NY — Charles Melichar has joined Colgate University as Director of Media Relations with responsibility for representing the university to members of the local, regional and national news media.
Melichar comes to Colgate from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where he was Director of News and Information. He held earlier positions at PR Newswire and ProfNet, Internet news services that connect reporters with stories developing around the world. He is a graduate of Marist College. He was an officer of the Maryland chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
At Colgate Melichar joins the staff in the Office of Communications, which, in addition to public information, conducts the university’s publications and public relations programs.
