I looked around the room in my 19th Century European Art Course. I recognized a few people, but did not know anyone well. I took a seat and pulled out my notebook.
‘Hey,’ I heard. A voice I slightly recognized sat down next to me. We had first met over the weekend and had laughed at the fact that we were both seniors and had never met previously.
‘You’re in this class too” I asked.
‘Yeah. I’m not an Art History major, but I thought it would be an interesting course and a nice way to break up the work for my thesis this semester. And I wanted to try something new,’ he said.
‘That’s exactly what I was thinking.’
You can meet someone new every day. You can do something different every day. And it’s not like you’re the only person taking the road less traveled. In fact, most people at Colgate are.
