Hamilton, NY — Colgate University sophomore wide receiver Luke Graham, along with junior defensive tackle Josh Sabo and senior offensive tackle Matt Shepard have been named to the 2002 Football Gazette Division I-AA All-America Team.
Graham earned third team honors on offense, while Sabo and Shepard were honorable mention selections.
Graham was Colgate’s leading receiver with 65 catches for 1,182 yards and seven touchdowns and offensive MVP.
He became only the fourth receiver in school history to grab over 1,000 receiving yards in a season ‘ joining Corey Hill, George Delaney and Tom Stenglein. Graham earned second team all-Patriot League honors this fall, while finishing 13th in the country in Division I-AA in receiving yards per game with 98.50.
Sabo made 60 tackles for the Raiders this season including a team and league-high 18 for losses. He also tied for the team leadership in quarterback sacks with eight. He was instrumental in the Raiders finishing among the Top 10 teams in the country against the rush holding the opposition to 99.2 yards per game. He was second team all-Patriot League and first team all-ECAC.
Shepard was a key performer on Colgate’s offensive line, which helped the Raiders to finish first in rushing offense (177.5 yards per game) and total offense (392.5 yards per game) in the Patriot League. He was a first team all-Patriot League selection and honorable mention all-ECAC.
