With a full calendar of events and lectures to choose from, here are some that you won’t want to miss, including a visit from New York City’s former mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Giuliani will speak at 5 p.m. Monday in Memorial Chapel. The former mayor has been named Time magazine’s Person of the Year, has received an honorary knighthood from the Queen of England, and has been awarded the Ronald Reagan Presidential Freedom Award.
Giuliani’s talk, “American Politics and the Need for Resolute Leadership,” is presented by College Republicans, the Center for Freedom and Western Civilization, and the Budget Allocation Committee.
Tickets are free at the door but space is limited, so be sure to get there early. The doors open at 4:30 p.m.
Join the campus in celebrating the fourth annual Green Awards! Stop by the Ho Atrium at 6 p.m. Tuesday to see students, faculty, and staff be recognized for their efforts in making our campus a more sustainable and environmentally friendly place. Dinner will be provided by Hamilton Whole Foods.
Are you interested in joining the Peace Corps after graduation? The Peace Corps tackles challenges that affect the entire world, such as climate change, pandemic disease, food security, and gender equality and empowerment.
Stop by the Coop Conference Room for Peace Corps 101, an information session about the basics of the program at 4:10 p.m. this Wednesday. Stick around afterward for Peace Corps 212 at 5 p.m., a second info session focused on the program’s application process.
This Friday at 4 p.m., head over to 101 Ho Science Center for a lecture by Professor Julia Martinez. During her talk “Is it Five O’clock Yet? New Research to Inform Perspectives on Alcohol Consumption and College Drinking,” Martinez will present her research findings on college-age drinking. For more information, go here.
