HAMILTON, N.Y.The Binghamton University golf team won their third consecutive Colgate Invitational Sunday with a two-day score of 589 at Seven Oaks Golf Course.
All five of Binghamton’s players finished in the top-10.
Lehigh took second with a score of 591 while Ottawa came in third with a team score of 614. Loyola was fourth with a 616 and Concord College finished fifth with a score of 617. Colgate ‘A’ came in sixth with a 621 and Bucknell and American tied for seventh with scores of 623. Rounding out the top 10 were Rochester and Wagner who tied for ninth with scores of 624.
Joe Kunz of Binghamton defeated Rob McMenimon in the first playoff hole for medalist honors. Kunz and McMenimon both shot 146s. McMenimon led all golfers after Saturday’s action with a two under par 70. Other top 10 finishers include: Patrick McCahill of Lehigh and Ben Schubert of Loyola who tied for third with 147s; Eric Vinal of Binghamton checked in at fifth with a score of 148; Brad Moulton of Binghamton and T.J. Shuart tied for sixth with 149s and Keith Hendrickson and Adam Fuchs of Binghamton, John Jaravata of Lehigh and Matt Burroughs of Wagner tied for eighth with scores of 150.
Colgate finishers included Tyler Eldredge, who tied for 12th with a 151, Ben Selberg and Nils Homer who tied for 22nd with scores of 153, Sean Cusick tied for 31st with a score of 155, Dave Policano tied for 39th with a score of 157, Andrew Calcutt and Jesse Smith tied for 50th with scores of 159, Mike Lynch tied for 53rd with a score of 160, Josh Polsinelli and Pat Bauer tied for 65th with a score of 162, Charlie Sahlman tied for 86th with a 166 and Mike Chase tied for 109th with a 178.
The Raiders are back in action on Monday, Sept. 9 at the American Invitational in Rome, N.Y.
