Golfers such as Chip Beck, Andy Bean, Bobby Wadkins, and Syracuse native Jim Roy will be playing at Colgate’s Seven Oaks Golf Course on Monday for a chance to qualify for the U.S. Senior Open.
The general public is invited to watch — for free — the top-level golfers compete for the right to move on to the U.S. Senior Open Championship to be played July 28-31 at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
Seven Oaks, recently named one of the top public golf courses in New York state by Golf Magazine, was one of 35 sites chosen for sectional qualifying. Sixty golfers will compete here, and five with the lowest scores will qualify for the championship.
Golf fans can catch the first group tee off at 8:30. The complete pairings are available here.
Seven Oaks, designed by Robert Trent Jones, is open to the public and also offers membership packages.
