Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook, seems to be everywhere these days discussing her upcoming book Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead. In a New York Times blog post today, it was mentioned that the high-powered executive will be making a stop at Colgate on April 5 as part of the university’s Entrepreneur Weekend.
The post in the DealBook blog said that Sandberg will visit three big banks and a consulting firm this week to discuss the ideas in her book. It also mentions that she will travel to Colgate and to Harvard Business School.
Sandberg, whose ideas about working women have prompted both enthusiasm and criticism, will be appearing on 60 Minutes and Good Morning America, and in magazines from Time to Cosmopolitan, as she promotes her book and a related website.
One of the world’s most wealthy and influential women, Sandberg will be the keynote speaker for the university’s second annual Entrepreneur Weekend, which connects alumni, parents, and student entrepreneurs during a two-day exchange of energy, creativity, and information.
She will speak at 5 p.m April 5 at Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
While on campus, Sandberg also will meet with student members of Colgate Women in Business and the Entrepreneur Club, as well as participants in Thought into Action (TIA), Colgate’s incubator program that connects aspiring student entrepreneurs with alumni who volunteer their expertise in fields ranging from finding angel investors, to business law or taking a company public.
