Among the many events going on at Colgate this week, here are a few you won’t want to miss!
On Friday, check out magician Joel Meyers, presented by CAB. Head to Donovan’s Pub at 8 p.m. to see this young illusionist who Newsweek magazine says “will capture your imagination.” Meyers was named 2013 Best Rising Star and was nominated for two Campus Magazine awards in 2013. This is one show you won’t want to miss, so stop by and see the magic happen!
Get involved in the Broad Street Dinner Series! In this new program, a different house on Broad Street will host an engaging dialogue over free food. The topics will vary each week, but they are chosen so that Colgate students can contribute meaningfully to the conversation.
The second dinner of the semester will be held this Thursday at 6 p.m. at Bunche House, with discussion around themes of positive sexuality in Navajo myth lead by Professor Christopher Vecsey. For more information and to RSVP, go here.
Have an interview coming up? Stop by 101 Ho Science Center on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. for the workshop Acing the Interview. Learn proper interview technique, how to navigate difficult interviewing situations, and how to make a good first impression with an employer from David Loveless, assistant director for career development. A Q&A session will follow, so be sure to bring any questions you may have.
Don’t miss Colgate’s annual production of the Vagina Monologues this weekend. The show presents the experiences of women differing in race, nationality and class, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. These individuals come together in the common celebration of all women, demonstrating how the unification of groups despite varying identities can combat the common oppression and violence against women.
With three chances to see the show, be sure not to miss out! Stop by the Palace Theater Friday, Saturday, or Sunday at 4:45 p.m.
