Dancefest, one of the most if not the most popular student event on campus, will be webcast live Friday from Memorial Chapel.
Alumni, parents, and friends can watch the student performances starting at 6:30 p.m. by going to the Colgate Livestream channel.
Caitlin Cunningham ’13 said there will be 231 students involved in this spring’s Dancefest.
“Dancefest is a special event in many ways,” said Cunningham. “There is a unique bond formed among dancers within a dance group; more broadly, there is a bond formed among all of Dancefest’s dancers after seeing each other’s semester worth of hard work.”
Cunningham, who is graduating in May, says Dancefest is “…something that I will miss very much, if not the most, about Colgate.”
Those who can’t make it to Dancefest can turn their living room into the Chapel. The Chapel is equipped with high-definition, broadcast-quality video equipment. Three robotic-controlled HD cameras combined with a camera at the foot of the stage will provide great views of the 231 dancers.
For those on the go, each webcast is now optimized for viewing on mobile devices. Smartphone users can download the Livestream app from the iTunes or Google Play stores. Those viewing on tablets can simply go to the Colgate University channel where they will be automatically redirected to an optimized stream.
