The Dalai Lama has spent the last half-century as an international political leader, advocating for freedom of the people of Tibet, opposing violence, and calling for respect of human rights worldwide.
The Global Leaders Lecture Series, funded primarily by the Society of Families, allows the university to invite world-renowned speakers to campus.
The inaugural lecture series was held last April with Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner, award-winning authors of Freakanomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything.
