HAMILTON, N.Y.The Colgate University men’s ice hockey game with Nebraska-Omaha on October 11, originally recorded as a 6-5 double overtime loss was ruled a 5-5 tie Thursday by the NCAA Ice Hockey Committee.
The teams initially played a first overtime with five minutes on the clock followed by a second overtime with 20 minutes on the clock. The NCAA rule for in season tournaments is a five minute overtime followed by an optional shootout. The NCAA states that after five minutes the game is recorded as tie.
Colgate is now 0-2-1 on the season and hosts Sacred Heart on Friday at 7 p.m.
