As of Monday, April 5 ‘ Colgate (23-7 overall, 5-1 Patriot League) played only two games last week, losing four outings to the weather. The Raiders defeated Bucknell, 4-2 and 10-4 on Saturday. Sophomore outfielder/designated player Erin Hanna (Tucson, AZ) had a strong outing in the doubleheader. She was 4-for-7 with a pair of RBI. She had the game-winning RBI in the 4-2 win.
Senior pitcher Elena Isaac (Chandler, AZ) picked up her 11th win of the season in the first game. She scattered five hits, while walking one and striking out three in six innings. Her three strikeouts moved her into a tie for second place in career K’s with 264. Isaac also hit her first career home run to give Colgate a 2-0 lead.
Freshman first baseman Danielle Soule (Glendale, CA) had a pair of doubles against the Bison in seven at-bats. That gives her six on the season. She also had a pair of RBI and extended her hitting streak to five straight games.
Junior second baseman Natalie Rawson (Palmdale, CA) hit her first home run of the season and 22nd of her standout career. She moved into third place in career RBI with 87. Rawson also moved into a tie for fifth place in career total bases with 215.
She also has a league-high 12 doubles this season, equaling the fifth best single season total in school history.
Junior centerfielder Dorothy Donaldson (Lakeland, FL) moved into sixth place in career runs scored with 80. She is Colgate’s leading hitter this season with a .376 average.
Sophomore Kate Howard (Wheaton, IL) picked up a save and win in relief against Bucknell. She pitched the final inning of Colgate’s 4-2 win for her second save of the season, and then entered the second game in the third inning with a score tied 2-2. She picked up her sixth win of the season when the Raiders exploded for eight runs in the seventh inning.
