Hamilton, NY — As a means of raising money for and awareness of child abuse prevention, Colgate University’s senior honor society, Konosioni will sponsor a charity auction on Thursday, March 30 at 7p.m. to benefit the Madison County Family Outreach Program. ‘Since Child Abuse Prevention month is coming up,’ said Sara Batsell, president of Konosioni Society, ‘we wanted to use the auction as a way to raise money and awareness of child abuse, and possibly help prevent the suffering of another child.’ Throughout the auction various Colgate University student groups will perform. All are welcome to attend the free event. ‘The auction and entertainment are sure to capture the spirit of the Konosioni senior honor society, which emphasizes giving back to the community,’ said Batsell.
The auction will feature both a live and silent auction, emceed by professional auctioneer Sam Solovey, a former member of Konosioni and Class of 1998. Some of the items up for bid include tickets to major league baseball games, graduation weekend activities and many more spectacular items donated by members of the Colgate community. This year, Konosioni hopes to raise over $7 thousand for the Madison Family Outreach Program.
Konosioni Senior Honor Society is an elected society of 26 ‘ 13 men and 13 women ‘ chosen each year for their leadership and dedication to service at Colgate and in the greater community.
