Hamilton, NY — Jodi R. Neufeld is valedictorian and Yibing Cui is salutatorian of the Colgate University graduating Class of 2003. Colgate’s commencement ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 18.
Neufeld, who is from Schenectady, N.Y., majored in Latin American Studies and Japanese and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She will graduate summa cum laude with high honors in Latin American studies. Cui, of Shanghai, China, majored in economics and mathematics and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He will graduate summa cum laude with honors in economics.
Colgate President Rebecca Chopp will award 705 bachelors degrees during Colgate’s 182nd commencement exercises on Sunday afternoon. Novelist and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Anna Quindlen will deliver the address during the 1:30 ceremony adjacent to Taylor Lake (in Sanford Field House in case of rain).
