Hamilton, NY — The Colgate University men’s basketball team (2-2) carries a two-game winning streak into its Tuesday night game against Syracuse University (1-1) at the Carrier Dome. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
This will be the 155th meeting between Colgate and Syracuse. The Orangemen hold a 109-45 advantage in the series including a streak of 36 straight victories over the Raiders. Colgate’s last win in the series came during the 1961-62 season.
After dropping a pair of games to open the season at the Pepsi-Marist Classic against Marist and Eastern Michigan, the Raiders have rebounded for victories over Upstate New York foes Cornell (76-58) and Hobart (92-56).
Colgate, the second highest scoring team in the Patriot League, has four players averaging in double figures. The Raiders are paced by sophomore center Andrew Zidar (11.8 ppg) followed by senior point-guard Dave Hardy (11.5), junior forward Howard Blue (10.5) and junior guard Mark Linebaugh (10.3). Zidar is the leading rebounder with 6.3 caroms per outing.
