Christmas is coming early this year for Colgate Thirteen fans.
The a cappella crew is pleased to announce that it will kick off the 2014 Radio City Christmas Spectacular in New York City on Friday, December 12, taking the stage at 9:10 p.m. — just before the curtain rises on the Rockettes at 9:30 p.m.
The Thirteen are in good company. Al Roker of the Today Show, Meredith Vieira of The Meredith Vieria Show, Nick Cannon of America’s Got Talent, Rosie Perez of The View as well as a cappella groups from Princeton and Cornell will offer pre-show entertainment during the Spectacular’s monthlong run.
Though this is the first time that the Thirteen have appeared at Radio City Music Hall, they are no strangers to the spotlight. The group has performed recently at Fenway Park, Camden Yard, and the Staples Center. They have taken part in the Oakland Raiders halftime program, and in January of 2013, they sang on the nationally syndicated Ricki Lake Show.
The New York Times has called the Spectacular, “a living greeting card to New York, sealed with a kiss (and innumerable high kicks).” Colgate community members can see the December 12, 9:10 p.m., performance at a discount by using the code COLGATE when ordering tickets online. Be sure to arrive 45 minutes early to make sure you don’t miss a note.
