BETHLEHEM, PA – Colgate junior outfielder Dorothy Donaldson (Lakeland, FL) and senior right-hander Elena Isaac (Chandler, AZ) have been honored by the Patriot League for their performances this past week in softball.
Donaldson claims Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after posting a .526 batting average last week. The leading hitter in the Patriot League was tough against Lafayette, going 7-for-14 with three home runs, six runs scored and 12 RBI. Donaldson’s three bombs move her into first-place on the League’s all-time homers chart (32). In a 12-0 win over the Leopards, Donaldson was 2-for-2 with two homers, two walks, two runs scored and five RBI.
Isaac takes home the Pitcher of the Week award for the third time this season after going 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA in three appearances last week. She gave up one hit and struck out one in five innings on the mound in a 12-0 victory over Lafayette. In a 6-1 win against the Leopards, Isaac scattered five hits, allowed an unearned run and fanned four batters. Isaac also earned a win in a non-PL contest against Niagara Monday.
The duo helped Colgate clinch its 14th straight Patriot League Tournament berth, and establish a school record for wins in a season with 31. The Raiders have eight games remaining in the regular season.
