Hamilton, NY — The Colgate Raiders (8-10, PL 3-2) will try to continue their recent home success when they play host to Bucknell (9-9, PL 3-2) Friday night at Cotterell Court. Tip-off is 7:45 p.m.
The Raiders are currently in a three-way tie with Bucknell and American for third place in the Patriot League standings.
The Raiders have won their last three home games including Patriot League wins over Lafayette and Army. Bucknell comes into the contest on a two-game winning streak after sweeping last weekend’s home series against Lafayette and Army.
This is the 78th meeting between Colgate and Bucknell with the Bison leading the overall series, 41-36. The Bison have won four straight against Colgate including an 80-75 victory at Cotterell Court last season.
In its last outing, Colgate posted a 53-48 win over Navy at Annapolis. It was only the second win against the Midshipmen in the last 10 outings. Junior Howard Blue led Colgate’s attack with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Mark Linebaugh added 13 points and Dave Hardy tallied 11 points.
Blue is Colgate’s leading scorer and rebounder with 12.7 ppg and 6.7 rpg. Also in double figures for the Raiders is Linebaugh with 10.1 points per game.
First team all-Patriot League senior Boakai Lalugba is Bucknell’s leading scorer and rebounder. He is averaging a double-double through the first 18 games with 16.0 ppg and 10.2 rpg. Freshman Kevin Bettencourt is the other Bison in double figures with 10.3 points per game.
