Hamilton, NY — The Colgate University men’s basketball team (0-2) opens its home season Tuesday night against Cornell (1-0) at Cotterell Court. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
The Raiders suffered a pair of road losses this past weekend in the Pepsi-Marist Classic. In the opening round, Marist College defeated Colgate, 72-65, before the Raiders were nipped 66-65 by Eastern Michigan in the consolation game.
The Big Red opened their season with a 78-72 road win over Buffalo behind sophomore forward Eric Taylor’s 30-point effort.
This is the 118th meeting between Colgate and Cornell with the Big Red leading the overall series, 68-49. The Raiders won last year’s contest in Ithaca, 68-55. In fact, the visiting team has won the last five games between these two teams.
Colgate has three players averaging in double figures led by Dave Hardy (16.5) followed by Andrew Zidar (15.0) and Mark Linebaugh (14.0).
