Colgate Inn reopens after extensive renovations

Hamilton village residents, Colgate community members, and honored guests are reintroducing themselves to an old friend this week. The Colgate Inn, closed for renovations since November 2010, is now open for business.

Every one of the inn’s guest rooms has been updated, and six new suites have been created, complete with luxurious bathrooms large enough for soaking tubs and walk-in showers. Three of the suites feature balconies accessed through French doors.

Downstairs, the tap room has been moved from the back of the building to the front along Payne and Madison streets, creating a vibrant corner that will soon accommodate an outdoor seating area. To serve guest rooms and social spaces more efficiently, a new kitchen has been placed at the center of the inn’s first floor.

The Green Room has been revamped to serve the needs of the university and the business community. The meeting space can now be joined with the quiet tavern and the tap room to form a single, large reception space.

The Colgate Inn is currently taking overnight reservations and welcoming guests to the tap room. Its grand reopening celebration will take place this June. Visit innatcolgate.com for details.
