The Colgate campus was brimming over the weekend with hundreds of guests who flocked to informational sessions, concerts, exhibitions, athletic events, and numerous other Family Weekend events.
Parents and others were treated to a delicious South Asian dinner at the Hall of Presidents sponsored by the Muslim Student Association, which hosted the event marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Swinging ‘Gates, Resolutions, Dischords, and The Colgate Thirteeen performed for receptive audiences, and guests visited a contemporary art exhibition at the Picker Art Gallery and a unique collection of paintings and prints by Alex Katz, Richard Serra and Chuck Close at James B. Colgate Hall.
President Rebecca Chopp and Dean of the College Charlotte Johnson provided a “state of the college” address on Saturday morning, and academic departments across campus held informational meetings.
Other more informal sessions were held with faculty members throughout the weekend.
Hardy football fans braved the rain as they watched the Raiders beat Towson, 27-17, on Saturday.
Students with parents in tow also frequented downtown Hamilton restaurants and shops, and visited the farmer’s market held each Saturday at the Village Green.
