HAMILTON, N.Y.For the fourth consecutive year, the Binghamton University golf team won the Colgate Golf Invitational at Seven Oaks Golf Course with a two-day total of 584.
Loyola came in second place with a total score of 595 while Lafayette was three strokes behind with a 598 for third. Lehigh and American came in fourth and fifth with scores of 599 and 601. Iona placed sixth with a score of 603 and Bucknell (605), Concord (607), Rochester (608) and Duquesne (609) rounded out the Top-10. Colgate ‘B’ placed 16th with a score of 620 and Colgate ‘A’ was right behind with a 624.
Individually, Will Shriver took medalist honors after shooting a 143 over two days. Colgate senior Sean Cusick (Westwood, Mass.), Seth Kaplan of American and Paul Selvaggio of Iona tied for second with scores of 144. Cusick shot a 69 on the first day of the tournament. Also in the Top-10 were Brad Moulton of Binghamton with a 145, Keith Hendrickson of Binghamton and Abbie Valentine of Bucknell with 146s and Paul Burke of Lafayette, John Jaravata of Lehigh, and Patrick Shanahan of Rochester with 147s.
Colgate is next in action on Monday, Sept. 8 at the American University tournament in Rome, N.Y.
