Memorial Chapel was standing-room-only Thursday evening for a reading and talk by Salman Rushdie, author of numerous novels including The Satanic Verses and Midnight’s Children, which won the Booker Prize as well as the Best of the Booker Prize.
Rushdie had talked earlier in the day with students in the Living Writers course, which brings 10 authors to campus each fall for personalized classroom sessions and public readings.
After his talk and a book signing that drew a long line of fans, Rushdie attended dinner at Merrill House, where he was joined by guests including alumni and parents who participated in the Living Writers Online program.
You can read more about Rushdie’s Memorial Chapel talk here, and a story about the Living Writers Online will be coming next week.
