Hamilton – AlliedSignal, Inc. has presented $21,500 in grants to Colgate University to support three important projects at the school for the 1999-2000 academic year.
The grants will support stipends for student summer research assistants in chemistry and physics, and access to the sophisticated graphical database Science and Technology Network, as well as Beilstein, the world’s preeminent comprehensive bibliography on organic chemistry, for the Cooley Science Library and the chemistry laboratories. In addition, the grants will make it possible for the refurbishment and equipping of Colgate’s career services conference room, in which corporate recruiters meet with students and the department conducts career conferences.
Supervisor of library and information resources at AlliedSignal Inc., Anne Whitenack McKay, who is a member of Colgate’s Class of 1985, was on campus to present a check in late April.
